Dianadea occupies a special status as the first foal born on the farm to enter into the Marefield breeding program. Her dam, Alexa, was a state's premium aspirant who was imported before she could fulfill her foal-producing obligations in Germany. She came to Marefield with Dea in utero from the extraordinary mare band assembled by the late Bari von Buedingen. Alexa was lost a year after Dea’s birth, making this daughter doubly dear as the sole carrier of these bloodlines in the Marefield herd.

Dianadea earned the high score at her inspection site in 1992. Her entry into the breeding program was delayed by a few years of competition on the Virginia show hunter circuit where her light and elastic gaits earned her consistent wins on the flat and the nickname “The Mover.”

Dea's first foal, Pumina, was typey and charming like her dam but she remained small. Son Atail developed well, becoming Reserve Young Horse Champion, USDF Northeast Breeders Championship when he was a 3-year-old gelding.

Revel placed 1st in the Yearling Fillies class at Lexington in 1999. She received 7.33 at her AHS/VhW Inspection and 7.33 in her mare performance test (with an 8 for jumping technique and a 10 on ability) to become an elite mare candidate in 2001. In 2003, Revel’s first foal, a filly by Arrian, was the third generation from this mare family born here.

Dianadea's Contucci daughter, Ceiligh, provides more insurance that this motherline will continue in the Marefield breeding program.
