While Electra’s mare family was previously unknown to Marefield, the filly’s movement, correct conformation and interesting bloodlines recommended her to our breeding program. The Argentan, Woermann and Lugano blood on the bottom of her pedigree matches three classic lines for a strong foundation. Eklatant provides an interesting top note combining the Thoroughbred influence of the Bay Ronald line through Ecuador XX with the important improvement sire Adlerschild XX. In his early crops, Eklatant produced some licensed sons but over the years it has been his daughters who have proven themselves as the more significant carriers of his line, often appearing in the pedigrees of stallion prospects and Verden Auction horses.

Electra earned the high score at her 1993 AHS/VhW Inspection. She was on lease during her early breeding years and proved she was a consistent producer of big-moving and saleable foals. She has matched particularly well with Bolero blood. Two colts by Bordeaux were pronounced stallion prospects by the judging commissions at their respective inspections.

Of the offspring Electra has produced for Marefield, two are with amateur owner/riders: Benedick is owned and ridden by Mary Creed and Astarte moved to her new home with Sue Briggs in the late autumn of 2002.

In 2003,Rafferty delighted his new owner by winning his class in the first hunter show he entered after purchase. Two weeks later he was champion of his division at the next hunter show where he appeared. In the fall of 2003, Electra sold to Chris Rush. Electra's daughter, Bastet, is still in our herd and provides Marefield with an opportunity to carry this solid broodmare’s bloodlines into the next generation.
