Fabia has most firmly established the secure beginnings of a motherline for the Marefield breeding program. There are three daughters and two granddaughters on the farm ensuring that these bloodlines will continue. Fabia, herself, was bred out of a proven Groenwohldhof motherline that was retained even when the heirs of the late Otto Schulte-Frohlinde seriously reduced their broodmare population after the founder’s death.
Grandmother, Alaska, is grandam of the stallion Pik Donnerhall and Fabia's dam, Papermoon, is mother of the stallion Don Campione. In 2003, Papermoon's Donnerhall son, Domani Vengo, passed the stallion licensing in Verden and his 5-year-old full sister, Donnabella, was named to the reserve list for the Bundeschampionat.
The early success of the Donnerhall matches with both her grandam and dam suggested that this could be a productive route to follow when breeding Fabia. It worked. First foal, Daalny, is an elite mare and second daughter, Deleila, owned by Joerg and Isabel Clasen, received the state's premium award in Germany. Dauphin, the only colt from this pairing, completed his stallion performance test at Adelheidsdorf in October of 2002 and is currently on lease to the State Stud at Celle.
In 2003, another Donnerhall filly, Diotima, earned her EMC. She also qualified for the USDF/Cosequin Northeast Breeders Finals where she was named Res. Champ. Filly. In the year-end USDF HOY Awards, Diotima was Res. Champ. 3-year-old filly in the nation. Under rider/trainer Erin Sweeney, Diotima achieved a standing of 1st in the nation in the USDF 2003 Materiale Awards, 3-year-old fillies. She also was ranked 2nd in the nation of all fillies in the 2003 AHS Breeding Division Awards. Younger full sister Dauphine also qualified for the 2003 USDF/Cosequin Northeast Breeders Finals where she came in 3rd. At year-end, Dauphine tied for 5th 2-year-old filly in the nation, USDF Sport Horse Awards and she tied for 15th of all Hanoverian fillies in the AHS 2003 year-end awards.
Fabia’s matches with other stallions have also had positive results. A son by Rouletto is now competing in dressage in Switzerland. Recent successes for this motherline have been realized by Chris Rush and her EMC Folie, the only Fabia daughter to date who is not from the Donnerhall match. In 2002, this typey black mare was Hilton Farm site champion in both her AHS/VhW Inspection and the MPT. The following year, Folie qualified for the US National FEI 5-Year Old Championships with the highest score in Region I and second highest average in the nation.
