Partita’s athletic mare family has produced Verden Elite Auction, stallion auction and foal auction horses, as well as sporthorses that are successfully competing in Germany. Her dam, December, is a large, strong mare who displays a surprisingly light, airy trot and an exceptionally good walk. At her mare performance test, December was an impressive jumper, earning 8s in both technique and ability categories.
Partita inherited her dam’s strong back and athleticism. At her 2001 mare performance test, Partita achieved even higher points than her dam had earlier realized in jumping. She earned an overall final MPT score that garnered 10th place in the US that year. An added bonus is Partita’s elegant and modern type which contributed to her tie for 7th place in the nation on the same 2001 AHS/VhW Inspection Tour. Our gamble that her old-style dam was genetically programmed to produce modern types had paid off.
Reese, a Partita sister by Rienzi, promises more sporthorse ability for the future. At her foal inspection in 2000, Dr. Jochen Wilkens pronounced Reese the best mover of the group and in 2003 she earned her EMC. Reese’s more modern and typey full sister, Rennes, awaits outside evaluation when she is presented at her mare inspection in 2004.
December produced a colt by Contendro in 2003 and we are hoping for a filly from her successful 2004 breeding to Rienzi to add to this mare family next year. We also look forward to Partita’s carrying of the line into the next generation with a successful breeding this year.
