SPS CONTESSA

Priscilla’s dam, Samantha, is also dam of Dolani (by Drosselklang II), a successful performance gelding competing at S-level under Holga Finken. Her daughters SPS Brentina (by Brentano II) and SPS Peggy Sue (by Pablo) remain in the Hof Kleemeyer broodmare band. Marefield owns another Samantha daughter by Pablo, EM Papagena. The grandam, Androne, is mother of the stallion Sherlock Holmes and the Marefield-owned EM Salvana. Marefield’s success in the US with these earlier-acquired mares from the Kleemeyer family’s breeding program inspired the purchase of Priscilla, who remains in Germany at Hof Clasen.

In 1995, Priscilla was winner of the Sudweyhe Mare Show where two years earlier her mare family had taken the family prize. Her 1996 colt was sold to a professional dressage rider. Priscilla’s second foal, Winterlight, became a fully licensed stallion in Germany in 2001; in February 2003, he was imported by new co-owners Britta and Steve Johnston. Winterlight was named Reserve Stallion Champion at the VADA/NOVA Breed Show in early June 2003. Daughter Wremy was brought to the US as a weanling; she earned her EMC in 2003.
