Bounty was bred by the Sommerfeld family in Neuhaus from a mare line that has produced a number of stallions for the Hanoverian breed, including Endflug, Smaragd, Wousselt and, more recently, licensing champion Don Frederico. Bounty’s dam, Lomella, is full sister to the longtime Celle stallion Lanthan. Lomella is the grandam of the stallion Leonardo and also is in the pedigree of a Wolkenstein colt who was licensed in 2002. A Lomella granddaughter by Rotspon was the Champion Young Mare of the 2002 Ratje Niebuhr-Schau.
Bounty has been a productive and successful broodmare whose offspring are consistently rhythmical and rideable. While the breeding on her sire’s side suggests a strong dressage orientation, Bounty has produced well when matched with the Ramiro line, especially when the influence has come through his son Raphael.
The first product from that match, Rienzi, passed the 1998 Federation 100-Day Performance Test with the highest overall score for any participating Hanoverian. Rienzi's full sister, SPS Ranis, was class winner at the 1999 Louis-Wiegels-Schau and placed 5th in her class at the 2000 Ratje Niebuhr-Schau. Ranis’s Donnerhall daughter, Danae, was winner of the 2001 Lohberg Foal Show and Wranis, a daughter by Weltmeyer, placed 2nd in Yearling Fillies, DAD 2001. In 2003, Wranis was again competed in breed shows. At year-end, she was ranked 5th nationally in the USDF Sport Horse Awards, 3-year-old fillies. She also earned 6th place in the 2003 AHS Breeding Division Awards, Young Horse–Fillies. Wranis became an EMC in July of that same year at the AHS/VhW Inspection held at Hilton Farm.
EM Regan (by the Raphael son Ravallo), owned by Laura Whitford, was the high score Hanoverian of the 1998 AHS/VhW Inspection Tour, and a top competitor in breed shows and under saddle with Laura the following year. Another of Bounty's Raphael daughters, EMC Rheia, passed her inspection and MPT in 2001. Bounty’s firstborn, Livia, earned high score for the show to win the Lillian Haines Trophy at the 1999 KDCTA Dressage Show. Augustus is competing in New England, Bounty’s 1999 Raphael son sold as a dressage horse in Germany and her son by Ruiz Soler is starting his training with new owner Russell Oden in Texas.
