Rienzi’s dam, SPS Bounty, comes from the outstanding Fassa mare family that has produced a number of stallions for the breed including, most recently, Don Frederico. Her dam, Lomella, is full sister to the long-time Celle stallion Lanthan. Lomella was also grandam of the Champion Young Mare at the 2002 Ratje Niebuhr-Schau.

As the initial example of the somewhat unusual combination of Bounty and Raphael, Rienzi presented a convincing result. We tried the match a few more times and realized other successful products. SPS Ranis was winner of her class at the 1999 Louis-Wiegels-Schau and is dam of Danae (Donnerhall), winner of the 2001 Lohberg Foal Show. In 2003, Danae received the 1a Preis at the Verden Mare Show. Ranis's Weltmeyer daughter, Wranis, placed 2nd in the competitive yearling filly class, DAD 2001. In 2003, Wranis was again competed in breed shows. At year-end, she was ranked 5th nationally in the USDF Sport Horse Awards, 3-year-old fillies. She also earned 6th place in the 2003 AHS Breeding Division Awards, Young Horse–Fillies. Wranis became an EMC in July of that same year at the AHS/VhW Inspection held at Hilton Farm.

Bounty's 1997 daughter, Rheia, became an elite mare candidate in 2001. There was a second stallion prospect, who unfortunately was lost at an early age, and a gelding who sold as a dressage horse in Germany. Very closely related is Laura Whitford’s EM Regan (by the Raphael son Ravallo), who was the highest-scoring Hanoverian on the 1998 AHS/VhW Inspection Tour.

Bounty’s foals from other matches have also made their mark. Firstborn Livia (Lemon Park) is dam of Vanessa Carlson’s EMC Arriana (Arrian), site champion at her 2001 MPT, and Augustus (Akzent II) is a dressage competitor in New England. Rounding out the group are a Ruiz Soler son in Germany who is starting under saddle this spring and Selkie, a daughter by Sandro Hit, who is growing up at Marefield.
