Bastet (Brentano II/EM Electra)

DOB: 3/27/2001

Bastet’s dam has a proven production record with Bolero blood. Two Bordeaux colts were cited as stallion prospects at their foal inspections. Son Rafferty, by Rienzi (whose dam is by Bolero), was an outstanding foal and was already an outstanding competitor in the hunter ring at the age of 4. We were very pleased, then, when the match with Brentano II brought a filly. Bastet has been started under saddle and her easy-going, unflappable temperament makes her extremely rideable. She is entered in the MAHB/Hedgeland Fall Inspection on October 29, 2004 and is scheduled for the MPT at that time.

Ceiligh (Contucci/EM Dianadea)

DOB: 4/26/2001

The Caprimond son Contucci was matched with Ceiligh's dam–who carries Aristokrat and Saloniki blood from the motherline–to triple the Trakehner influence in the foal. It shows in Ceiligh's charming type and light-footed gaits, and makes her a valuable asset for the future breeding program. Sister Revel (Ramiro’s Bube) has earned her elite mare status. Of her siblings, Ceiligh most resembles brother Atail (Arrian), who was 1999 Reserve Young Horse Champion USDF Northeast Breeders Finals.

Constantin (Contucci/EM Papagena)

DOB: 4/28/2001

Like Ceiligh, Constantin is by Contucci and he, too, has a dam line that is highly influenced by Trakehner blood. His Pablo-daughter mother reflects a heritage from three different Trakehner improvement sires flowing through her dam, SPS Samantha (Semper Idem line), grandam, SPS Androne (Abglanz line) and great-grandam, SPS Contessa (Cyklon line). This influence can be seen in Constantin’s elegance of type and his light and airy gaits. Those attributes combined with his correctness and the history of performance achievement he inherits from both sides of his pedigree make him a stallion prospect in our estimation. In 2003, Constantin won his 2-year-old colt class with a score of 86.00% and then made a clean sweep of all the ensuing classes to become Grand Champion of the NCDCTA Sport Horse Breeding Show, Raleigh. At the 2003 USDF/Cosequin Northeast Breeders Finals, he achieved 4th place with a score of 80.45%.

Danae (Donnerhall/SPS Ranis)

DOB: 3/13/2001

Danae was winner out of more than 60 entrants at the 2001 Lohberg Foal Show. She is remaining in Germany at Hof Clasen where she will eventually join her mother and grandmother, SPS Bounty, as a broodmare, continuing the motherline into the next generation. In 2003, Danae was presented in the 2-year old class at the Verden Mare Show where she achieved a 1a preis.

Dauphine (Donnerhall/SPS Fabia)

DOB: 4/27/2001

Dauphine is the last of the siblings from the proven Donnerhall/ Fabia match. Her full sisters–Daalny, Deleila and Diotima–have earned elite mare or state's premium status; full brother, Dauphin, is a licensed stallion in Germany on lease to the State Stud at Celle. Fabia’s only other daughter, Chris Rush’s Folie (Fabriano), earned her EMC in 2002 and qualified for the US National FEI 5-Year Old Championships in 2003 with the highest score in Region I and second highest average in the nation. In her first year of breed show competition, Dauphine qualified for the 2003 USDF/Cosequin Northeast Breeders Finals where she came in 3rd with a score of 79.2%, right behind sister, the Res. Champ. Diotima. At year-end, Dauphine tied for 5th 2-year-old filly in the nation, USDF Sport Horse Awards with a 75.30%. She tied for 15th of all Hanoverian fillies in the AHS 2003 year-end awards.

Fata Morgana (Feiner Stern/EM Fausta)

DOB: 3/30/2001

Dam Fausta (Fabriano/Wenzel II/Einglas) was an elite foundation mare from two generations of SPS whom we expected to establish a motherline for the Marefield breeding program. Unfortunately, she was lost to a field accident at an early age. Fata Morgana is the only filly she produced before her untimely death. “Mo” bears a strong resemblance to her dam in type and we hope the similarity will be borne out in future achievement as well. She is off to a good start as winner of the Filly 2-Year Old Class at the June 4, 2003 Morven Park Breed Show. She has been started under saddle and is easy, uncomplicated and shows good gaits. Fata Morgana will be inspected and take her MPT at the MAHB/Hedgeland Fall AHS/VhW Inspection on October 29, 2004.

Fhinland (Fabriano/Poppaea)

DOB: 4/16/2001

Fhinland is another possible stallion prospect because of his movement, his heritage and the outside evaluation that made him champion colt at his inspection. His sire, Fabriano, is a great favorite of ours for his versatility and good mind, which contribute to making all-around sporthorses with superior rideability. Fhinland's dam comes from a motherline that is outstanding in the Hanoverian breed. Her full sister, SPS Prinzessin Asta, is dam of SPS Fenjala, one of the champions of the 2002 Ratje Niebuhr-Schau. Fenjala is also by Fabriano. Since Fhinland’s bloodlines so closely mirror those of his illustrious cousin, we hope that something special awaits him, too. In 2003, Fhinland qualified for the Northeast Breeders Finals at Devon where he was named Grand Champion Colt with a score of 84.35%. With that showing, we think he is off to a good start.

Rennes (Rienzi/December)

DOB: 3/27/2001

Rennes’s half sister Partita (Pablo) achieved her EMC in 2001. Full-sister Reese earned the same title in 2003. Rennes is developing into a different type from her full sibling and more closely resembles their sire Rienzi. Right now, it looks as if she might have appeal as a producer of show hunters. Rennes is personable and easy-going and should be a valuable addition to the breeding herd of the future to carry the Ginette motherline.
